His expertise crosses industries, from retail and consumer products to advanced technology and energy innovation. He currently serves on several public company boards and advises a venture capital firm, sharing his strategic insight with emerging startups.

Jim’s commitment to giving back is as vast as his business acumen. He has served on the Board of Governors for the American Red Cross, as Chairman of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and as a board member for prestigious institutions like UT Southwestern Medical School, SMU Cox School of Business, and Columbia Business School. He also founded the Education is Freedom Foundation, exemplifying his lifelong dedication to empowering young minds through education. A personification of the American Dream, Jim rose from humble beginnings and was honored in 2005 by the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans. In 2024, he received the Robert S. Folsom Leadership Award, recognizing his profound community impact.
